Has the Mazda CX-5 been recalled in NZ?

Yes: we found three NZTA recall campaigns covering early cars of this generation, all involving the fuel system or engine.

They cover a low-pressure fuel pump that can stop working and cause a no-start or stall on 2018 cars (R202201), a leaking fuel-injector seal that can lead to carbon build-up and lost performance on listed VIN ranges up to 2018 (AK001), and cylinder-deactivation software on 2018–2019 cars (R201916).

When we checked on 27 September 2026, R201916 was marked complete and NZTA showed the other two at 85% complete. Check a specific car’s VIN on the NZTA recalls database.
